Surterre Properties has awarded Yorba Linda High School student, Jacqueline Pronk, the grand prize for its annual photography contest – a $500 college scholarship. Second place winner, Lindsey Glastetter of El Modena High School, and third place winner, Carina Lee of Oxford Academy, were also awarded $250 and $100 college scholarships respectively.
The annual scholarship began in 2015 and welcomed amateur high school photographers to submit photos depicting the best of Orange County in three categories: natural historical and cultural sites and landmarks, scenic vistas and landscapes and night skies. Photos were required to be of nature and were judged on originality, artistic composition, technical quality and photographic technique. Images were to be in color, natural looking – not digitally altered or manipulated beyond reality – and original work.
