While it’s true that our current global landscape has changed certain aspects of the home buying and selling process for the foreseeable future, we at Surterre Properties have quickly adapted to the new normal. As always, we are committed to helping our community members with their housing needs — and keeping the following points in mind will pave the way for success in today’s market.
Work is Getting Done From Home
After several weeks of sheltering in place, it’s not just business as usual — and that’s okay. If anything, we’ve noticed business is progressing and starting to settle into a new type of norm. New working situations are being accepted and business continues. Buyers and sellers alike simply need to be flexible, adjust their expectations, and understand that right now, there are more hoops to jump through on everyone’s end. Delays in appraisals, inspections, loan processing, underwriting, etc. may be unavoidable in today’s world — but transactions will ultimately go through. Keeping the process rather than the outcome your priority is crucial.
Priorities Have Shifted
To ensure the continued health of all parties, social distancing and current safety measures must lead the way in every step of the real estate process, from realtors waiting outside while prospective buyers explore a property to wearing booties inside to having follow-up conversations over the phone rather than in person. That is why technology has been key in keeping the real estate market open for business. With virtual tours, videos, and digital staging, a homebuyer can feel like they are in their new home while sitting on their couch. Buying your dream home or selling your current house is still a priority, but keeping everyone safe and healthy is number one.
People Will Continue to Buy & Sell Real Estate
Admitting that we don’t have all the answers is difficult, but powerful. Honesty has long been one of the most appreciated traits of a trusted realtor, and the team at Surterre Properties is always straightforward with its clients. What we do know for certain, though, is that people still need homes in which to live; that fact won’t change anytime soon. There’s no need for sellers to take their listings off the market or buyers to give up on their home searches. In fact, more people are searching for and viewing homes online than ever before, which means more eyes on every listing.
Working together as a community allows us to navigate any uncertainty and come up with positive solutions. Now more than ever, your house is top of mind — and as always, we hope you will “Trust Us to Bring You Home.”
