Here at Surterre Properties, one of our core values is giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Adrienne Brandes, one of our top agents and well-known public figure in the Corona del Mar community for the past 35 years, is a glowing example of this value in action. In keeping with her longtime love of all things equestrian, Adrienne recently joined the board of Join-Up International, a California nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting gentle, effective alternatives to violence and force in both equine and human relationships. Founded by world-renowned horse trainer Monty Roberts, Join-Up International has spread its inspirational message to people from all walks of life—including business leaders, horse lovers, health professionals, war veterans, and prison administrators.
A strong advocate of Join-Up International, Adrienne Brandes is in very good company; in 2012, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain became a patron of the organization as well. “I am passionate about the organization’s Monty Roberts-developed techniques that advocate the non-violent training of horses—and people too,” Adrienne says. As a former Los Angeles police officer and first responder, Adrienne also supports another one of Join-Up International’s main objectives: to treat veterans and first responders with PTSI.
We are proud to have agents like Adrienne in our Surterre family who are committed to supporting charity work that betters our surrounding communities not only today, but for generations to come. Stay tuned for more updates on the wonderful volunteer work our staff and agents are involved in.
