Looking for fun weekend plans as the summer winds down? If so, the debut of Ohana, a two-day music festival at Doheny State Beach, might just be the ticket. Attendees can enjoy a day (or weekend) in the sun with a diverse, jam-packed music lineup right off the shore of the Pacific Ocean in beautiful Dana Point.
On Day one, Saturday, August 27, music fans can revel in the sounds of acclaimed musical acts such as Eddie Vedder, Elvis Costello, Band of Horses, X, Mudhoney, and Jack Irons, among others. On Sunday, August 28, day two’s stellar lineup features other celebrated musicians, including Lana Del Rey, City and Colour, Cat Power, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Ryan Bingham. Prior to the music festival, the Ohana Luau, a charity gala benefitting the San Onofre Foundation, will take place on Friday, August 26 at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. Attendees can join pro surfer Kelly Slater, Eddie Vedder, and special guests for an evening of dinner, drinks, live entertainment, and an exclusive live auction. Live music will be provided by The John Doe Experiment, as well as a performance of a few special songs by Eddie Vedder.
For the Ohana Festival, general admission allows concertgoers to roam throughout the grass areas of Doheny State Beach. Craft beer, wine, and signature cocktails, plus artisan food options from local restaurants and food trucks, will also be available. A limited number of VIP passes are also available, which include one-day expedited festival entry, a VIP laminate, Ohana Partnership Swag Bag, and access to the Ohana VIP Lounge. The VIP Lounge includes a hosted cocktail bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres, lounge seating with a shaded area, cabanas where you can hang out and relax, a live stream of the music stage, an exclusive Ohana photo booth with keepsake photos, and more. Attendees must be 21 or older to access the VIP Lounge.
Besides offering an entertaining day of great music in the sun, Ohana will donate a portion of proceeds to the San Onofre Parks Foundation, a California non-profit that works with the California State Parks to develop, preserve, and enhance the recreation and experience of California’s coastal parks. So during the final weekend of August, why not head to Dana Point and enjoy the tunes of first-rate musicians in a scenic beach setting? It’s the perfect ending to the relaxed, carefree days of summer. For more information and tickets, visit www.theohanafest.com.
