Surterre Properties hosted their semi-annual blood drive on Friday, September 27th. The blood drive was sponsored by the American Red Cross and was located at Surterre’s Monarch Beach office location (33522 Niguel Road). Thanks to the Surterre agents, staff, and community members who came out to support this great cause, enough blood was donated to the American Red Cross to help save up to 51 patient lives. Surterre has collected 37 total pints of blood so far in 2019, which has helped to save up to 111 total patient lives—a truly remarkable number.
Surterre Properties began partnering with the American Red Cross in 2008 to help support the community and educate about the importance of blood donation. Year after year, these Surterre events prove to be successful as our agents, employees, and community understand that the American Red Cross does not need blood—patients do. Every two seconds, someone in America gets a blood transfusion, and five million patients will need blood this year.
Throughout the year, Surterre hosts and participates in a number of additional philanthropic events, including eWaste and document shredding, a toy drive for children during the holidays, and volunteer days at local organizations such as Second Harvest Food Bank and Miracles for Kids.
Most recently, to commemorate Surterre’s legacy of community service and the roots they have firmly planted in their surrounding neighborhoods, the brokerage has teamed up with One Tree Planted to donate 44 trees for every home sold with a goal of planting 50,000 trees by Earth Day 2020.
