8th Annual Lobsterfest at Newport Beach

Get ready to celebrate summer while feasting on crustaceans at the 8th annual Lobsterfest in Newport Beach on Sunday, August 7, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Organized by the Lobsterfest Foundation and hosted by the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina, the popular community event raises funds for Leadership Tomorrow in Orange County and the Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire. In addition to raising funds for the aforementioned charities, the beach party offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the scenic Newport Back Bay setting, including swimming and a playground on the beach for kids. Attendees can also explore the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve by renting a kayak or bicycle.

Be sure to bring a hearty appetite to Lobsterfest, as the feast includes live Maine lobsters that are flown in the morning of the event and prepared by chefs on site with traditional seafood accompaniments. Along with the fresh lobster, the buffet meal includes New York strip steak, corn on the cob, salads, rolls, and dessert from Gelato Paradiso. Live entertainment will be provided by Pinch Me!, a Southern California band that plays a wide range of greatest hits from the ’60s to the present. The festivities will also include games for young children on the beach.

When Lobsterfest was launched in 2009, the event was an exclusive fundraiser benefitting the Sunrise Rotary Clubs in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. Lobsterfest evolved through the years, and, in 2013, the Lobsterfest Foundation was recognized as a nonprofit organization by the State of California. Now in its eighth year, the annual beach shindig features a plentiful supply of fresh Maine lobster and other delicious eats, live music, activities, games, and more—a summertime celebration that is truly for a great cause.

Tickets are $60 in advance; $80 at the door. VIP tickets are also available for $150 (advance purchase only). The VIP Admission includes all-you-can-eat Whole Maine Lobster and other items served at a reserved table with linens, silverware and china; complimentary beer and wine; and valet parking.
